Advent Devotion – 12/3/2010

Posted on 12/03/1007/31/18 by Steve

December 3, 2010 – Time

Scripture Ecclesiastes 3: 1 (NIV)

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

Devotion:

Time is one of the strangest of aspect of gifts. There are times when it seems like a curse – as the years pass, we swear it passes way too fast and during this time of year, children swear it passes way to slow. We want more of it yet we waste a lot of what limited amount of it that we have.

At this time in my life, I am mindful of things that I would have like to have done and things I would still like to do. I want to spend more of my time with those who matter most and to make the most of opportunities to let these people know that that I love them. I take more time getting to know the names of those who come into my life because they are all important. Maybe it’s seeing them more like God sees them.

Where do you spend your time? How could you spend it more wisely? What will you do with your time?

Eternal Lord and Father, help us to use the time that is allotted to us wisely and to not regret wasted time. Help us to see the right time for all of our activities. In the Name of Him Who Existed with You Before Time, Jesus, Amen.

(NOTE: The next devotion will be 12/6/2010).
