Maybe, like me, you are a planner, and tend to want to see not only the next step, but a good way down the path ahead. I like to know what to expect, and I like to be able to understand details and possible alternates, and so on. Sadly for my peace of mind, that is generally not how God works, at least not in my experience. Not too long ago I was reminded that not only does Abba not generally give us that kind of detail about the future, but we also don’t necessarily see a whole lot of what is going on right now, when it comes to spiritual things.
I certainly believe that God sometimes gives seers and prophets glimpses into not only the future, but the goings on in the spiritual realms in the now as well. However, that is not most of us, most of the time. I was reminded recently that we have to remember that there is a lot more going on than we are usually aware of. We should not be deceived if we don’t see or hear about something going on – that is not necessarily the true facts of the matter. Much of Kingdom work is not readily apparent to us on this mortal plane. We are totally ignorant of so much of what is going on in the spiritual realms. Small changes in the atmosphere (spiritual atmosphere, not the natural), while not necessarily immediately apparent, lead to huge changes to come. Sometimes we can see something small happening, and get discouraged because we think so much more “should” be happening. However, without the small changes, the greater transformation would never take place. The Holy Spirit is already working mightily in those small things, manifesting those shifts that prepare for greater changes that are the foundation for the greater work yet to come.
We cannot not slow or stop the intercession we are doing regardless of what we see or do not see – it is vital to the work! We should not get discouraged that we don’t see the changes we are praying and interceding for or think that it is not making a difference. It is! Indeed it is! When God’s timing is accomplished we will see and know that His hand has brought it all together. His name will be glorified and His Kingdom will be manifest, and that is what we want, after all. Intercessor, whether your part is large or small, it is important, even vital, don’t be deceived that it is otherwise! God works in many and diverse ways, not all known or acknowledged by men, and His purposes WILL be accomplished.
Just because you do not see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening!
