Have you ever felt God calling you to something (or maybe someone tells you that you have a certain call, and your spirit responds positively, so that you feel it is a true Word), but find yourself doubting that call because “who am I for God to use me in this way?” We all, each and every one of us, are called by God for something. There is a purpose and a reason for each and every Christ follower to be who we are and where we are, with our particular gifts and talents. Whether it is for leadership in some official capacity in a church or ministry or in other ways, we are all called. Scripture makes that very clear.
It is time for each of us to stop questioning why or how or who am I to believe I have a special role or place in God’s Kingdom and plan. I am and I do – that is quite clear, not because of anything about me or you but because God has said so! Whether I get it or understand it or not, whether I feel worthy or gifted or special ‘enough’ or not, for whatever reasons, God has chosen me (and you) for a role in His work here on earth, for this season (both in my/your life and in history) and it is time I got over myself and let Him do what He planned to do in and through me from the beginning of time – no more reservations! It isn’t up to me anyway, it’s all about Him and what He can and will do in and through me, not what I can or will do.
Will you join me in saying yes?
Father, I choose, here and now to take a more active role in the ministry You have called me to. I choose to release my passion for You and walk in the giftings you have given me. I choose to be the powerful, passionate man/woman of God You created me to be. I make this choice, Lord, but I need You to help me release the barriers of fear (or inadequacy, or whatever it is for you) that have wrapped me up and held me back. I need breakthrough to anchor my God-identity in my heart as well as my mind and to forever repent from believing the enemy’s lies that I am somehow not ‘enough’ for You to want to use me and to crucify that false identity on Your cross. I bring it to death and submit it to You do do so and make it stick. Remove all the lies that have anchored that false identity of “nobody special” in my heart. Your blood, Jesus, has set me free from any and all bonds and lies Satan can bring against me. You are the victor, he is utterly defeated. He has no power to hold me down, because I belong to You. I reject his lies and I receive Your truth. I am a child of the Living God, I have power in the Spirit that indwells me by the blood of the Lamb. NOTHING in heaven or earth can take that away or keep me from it, because YOU, Lord, have given it to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Blessings,
Kathy
