This morning as I was waking up some rhyming phrases were shuffling around in my head trying to form a poem. I’m not personally in a time of grief, so I knew it wasn’t for me but rather for someone else, although I have no idea who. Now that I’ve gotten it written down (and it grew as I wrote) I’m sharing it through several mediums. Someone out there needs these words, and I’m blessed that God gave them to me to share and help someone – perhaps a lot of someones.
Untitled Poem
I hear you weep
as you’re drifting near sleep,
grieving the one you hold dear.
Think, before you weep
of the company they keep.
Remember, your loved one is here.
Heaven is now their home,
no more will they roam
seeking what they think will bring cheer.
Here, now they’ve found peace
and such sweet release
from their pain and confusion and fear.
We look down from above
on the ones that we love.
We want you to have peace too, my dear.
You’ll see them again,
you will, my friend.
It’s all in My hands, you will see!
There’s work left you’ll do,
and I’ll see you through.
When the time comes, you’ll also join me.
On earth you’ll be praying,
in Heaven your loved one is praising;
together the work of My hands you will see.
My grace works through you;
joy, pain, and loss too
can be gifts that set people free.
Heaven is also your home,
no more will you roam.
So we wait, your loved one and Me.

I pray peace for whoever out there needs this word.
God bless,
